‘Twas The Data Breach Before…

‘Twas the night before black Friday, When all through the web, not a malware was stirring, not even a DDoS; the security programs were functioning with care, in hopes that a cyber thief would not soon be there. The security experts were all nestled in their cubicles, while visions of coding danced in their heads; and the software architect with red bull in hand, and I in my dev. environment, had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap. When the red light began to blink, our servers began to clatter; I sprang from my laptop to see what was the matter. Away to the desktop I flew like a flash, tore open the root directory as my network crashed. The halogen lights, on the breast of buzzing, gave a luster to the room to cause my eyes some fuzzing, when, what to my wondering eyes should appear, a phishing scam that would not endear, with a malware kicker that brought out my tears, with an old security program not lively or quick, I knew in a moment it must be a hacking twit.

More rapid than eagles the courses they came, and my entire computer system, they did shame. Now FBI virus! Now, Suspicious.emit and Methbot! On Sirefef, On Loyfish, On Linux.horsepill and Ransom.Goldeneye. To the root directory infect away! Infect away all! As my red bull emptied into my mouth the wild hurricane did fly, when the malware met with an obstacle, it did not die, so up to the risk points the courses they flew, with a sleigh of scams, and the hacker, too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard in my cloud network the prancing and pawing of tokenized little hoofs.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around, down the AP wire the news of my breach did bound. It was dressed as Target, Home Depot from head to foot, all reputations were tarnished with soot; a bundle of bad press had been flung on my back, My eyes, how they twinkled! My frown was growing, while my cheeks they pinkled. How would I begin to explain the hack to my boss? For I thought we tokenized with no data to be lost. My droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, as my computer screen turned as white as snow. The stooping of my network would soon be well known, but the identity of the malware would not be shown. I picked up the phone to reveal the bad news, but wishing this was a dream and the alarm could be met with a snooze.

If only I had tokenized my data when I had the chance, I would not be in this predicament, as this hack would be my last dance. My CTO was angered at the lack of response, for we had just paid millions and we were all at a loss. I hung up the phone and I spoke not a word, but went straight to my car to assess the absurd. If only I tokenized my data each day, I would not be looking for a new job during the holidays. For this season tokenization did matter, as I was not expecting my data security career to splatter. Never again will I not use TokenEx, as their platform is out of sight, Happy holidays to all and to all a good night!

Happy Holidays From Our Families to Yours,

TokenEx Team
